About
Lena Richter has a background in Anthropology and Migration Studies and a regional specialisation in the Maghreb. Since 2016, she has conducted extensive qualitative research on the question of "atheism" in Morocco, Tunisia, and the Moroccan diaspora in Europe. Among others, her PhD has focused on nonreligious activism, and her current postdoctoral research at the Center for Migration and Societal Change at Eurac Research explores nonreligious asylum questions. In addition to her research, Lena has taught in Morocco and the Netherlands on topics such as qualitative methods, citizenship, transnationalism, and migration.
