The analysis of ancient DNA from individuals who lived between approximately 8,000 and 3,500 years ago in the eastern Italian Alps reveals changes over time in the genomic structure of prehistoric alpine groups and the genetic impact of migrations that occurred in western Eurasia since prehistory.
