Project Summary

CON-TAKT is an experimental model of social innovation for INCLUSIVE housing support. At its core is housing as a social resource—not merely as a physical space, but as a key to participation. Access to affordable housing is often difficult for many disadvantaged people—very often due to social prejudices and structural barriers. The project’s innovation lies in a holistic, 360-degree approach: a paradigm shift that views housing integration comprehensively—including education, employment, health, culture, communication, and social support. CON-TAKT creates new opportunities through cross-sectoral partnerships, participatory approaches, community coaching, family workshops, and the creation of meeting spaces. The local population is actively involved in the project. The goal is to promote social inclusion through cultural mediators, break down barriers, and develop a transferable model of local housing support with a sustainable impact.

Target Audience

The project is aimed at people in complex life situations who require special protection and support: migrants, refugees, families in socio-economically disadvantaged circumstances, people with disabilities or mental health conditions, single parents, and families with children. Children born in Italy to parents from non-EU countries and unaccompanied foreign minors also often share experiences of migration and discrimination, with limited knowledge of cultural norms and values. All face a high risk of social exclusion and require support in the areas of housing, education, employment, and social participation. The groups mentioned are explicitly recognized in Provincial Law No. 7/2018 for the promotion of inclusion and participation. Participants have diverse cultural backgrounds but often limited educational qualifications and precarious employment contracts.

CON TAKT is a project funded by the European Union (European Social Fund “ESF”). The lead partner is the Val Venosta District Community (“Comunità Comprensioriale Val Venosta” | “Bezirksgemeinschaft Vinschgau”); the project is being carried out in collaboration with Caritas, GRW Sarentino | Sarntal , and Eurac Research. Eurac Research is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the project.
