Corvara 2.0

The overall goal of the project Corvara landslide monitoring is the continuation of the existing analyses and monitoring schemes for the Corvara landslide. Monitoring of the Corvara landslide is based on satellite-based radar data (e.g. Sentinel-1 and Cosmo SkyMed) using interferometric and amplitude analyses as well as manual and permanent GPS measurements. The universities of Modena-Reggio Emilia and Trento, as well as the Geological Office of the Province of Bolzano are partners in this collaborative project.

For the ongoing year, the installation of three terrestrial stereo-photogrammetry stations is planned to acquire images of the landslide on a daily basis. A future challenge will be the implementation and operation of a landslide early warning system supported by the Geological Office of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.
