Project summary

With the project Inclusio MeWo 2.0, supported by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), a further step is being taken in Val Venosta towards promoting the integration of people with disabilities, people with mental health conditions, and people with a migrant background. While the predecessor project “MeWo – More than Housing Vinschgau” primarily focused on people with a migrant background, Inclusio MeWo 2.0 aims to tackle the acute housing shortage and provide comprehensive support across different areas of life. At its core, the project addresses housing as a cross-cutting societal issue and a key prerequisite for social participation. Access to adequate housing and its long-term stability remains a major challenge for many people in vulnerable situations. The project follows a holistic and multi-level approach that, in addition to housing support, also addresses employment, education, health, and social integration. A key component is the establishment of a dedicated service point offering guidance and support throughout the entire housing pathway – from finding accommodation to maintaining stable living conditions. Key activities include support with housing search and mediation with landlords, training programmes on cohabitation, tenants’ rights and obligations, and financial management, legal advice and assistance with administrative procedures and documentation, employment support as a basis for independent living strengthening local networks and cooperation with relevant stakeholders.

The objective is to strengthen participants’ autonomy and life skills in the long term and to create stable living conditions. By networking with local stakeholders and providing a broad range of support services, the project fosters sustainable integration processes.

Target group

The project targets people in complex life situations who require special protection and support, in particular people with a migrant background and refugees, people with disabilities, people with mental health conditions. These groups are particularly affected by housing shortages and often face additional social and structural challenges. The aim is to sustainably improve their living conditions and strengthen their participation in society.

Inclusio MeWo 2.0 is a project funded by the European Union (European Social Fund Plus – ESF+). The lead partner is the District Community of Vinschgau, responsible for overall project development and coordination. The project is implemented in collaboration with Caritas, GRW Sarntal, Eurac Research, responsible for monitoring and evaluation
