GLOMOS Research Line KNOW-DAP: knowledge systems and preventive measures for DRR and Adaptation
This project comprises all GLOMOS activities directed at exploring the integration and practical application of diverse knowledge systems (i.e., local knowledge, Indigenous knowledge, scientific knowledge, etc.) in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation processes. The project supports the GLOMOS programme by conducting research across three interconnected thematic areas (transversally connected to other research lines prioritized within GLOMOS):
- Integration of Indigenous and local and knowledge into disaster risk management and adaptation planning
- Analysis of risk awareness and risk perception to inform risk reduction and adaptation actions
- Development of improved risk governance approaches and Early Warning Systems for mountain communities
This research line is also supported by the involvement of doctoral research projects affiliated with GLOMOS, which contribute to advancing the understanding of these key themes.
