Solar potential in Tyrol and the province of Bolzano
According to the regional energy strategies of the country Tyrol and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, the use of renewable energy, specifically the solar energy is foreseen to implement the guideline of the European Directive 2009/28 / EC to promote the use of renewable energy. For the design of such systems there is a lack of data base for the potential for solar energy generation with high spatial resolution on roof level.
Objectives of the project are therefore:
1) A freely accessible, geo-referenced database on solar potential, which allows public institutions and private users in the country Tyrol and the province of Bolzano, to determine quickly and easily the solar potential at the building level and thr optimal use of technology.
To give 2) Specific recommendations on the importance of solar energy and its development opportunities in the country Tyrol and the province of Bolzano.
