There are no autonomies without regionalist and autonomist parties, at least not in Western Europe. Yet there are many regionalist and autonomist parties without autonomies, all over the world. But do regionalist parties always want autonomy or “more autonomy and self-government” for the territory they represent?
In this webinar we first discuss demands of regionalist and autonomist parties in relation to territorial empowerment, comparing parties in Western and Eastern Europe. Second, we discuss the parties’ positions toward the European Union and the European integration process. Finally, we debate new challenges that regionalist and autonomist parties face today, both in Western as well as in Eastern Europe.
Language of the webinar is English.
