A new roadmap for climate change adaptation in the tourism sector is now available. Developed within the ADAPTNOW project, the roadmap builds on a comprehensive participatory process conducted in the Puster Valley, one of the project’s pilot regions.
The work was led by our Center at Eurac Research, involving local stakeholders, tourism representatives, and experts to jointly identify climate risks and feasible adaptation measures for the sector.
The roadmap outlines how adaptation to the prevailing climate challenges can be achieved, which steps and responsibilities are needed, and how different actors can be involved throughout the planning and implementation process.
Beyond the Puster Valley, the document provides practical guidance for replication, helping other Alpine regions apply a similar participatory and expert-based approach to strengthen their tourism resilience in a changing climate.
