Why we are quitting X

This decision reflects our strong commitment to democratic values, pluralism, and informed debate—principles that guide both our research and public engagement.

For almost nine years, we benefited greatly from the exchange on Twitter (and later X). The platform allowed us to connect with students, scholars, practitioners, and institutions worldwide, discover valuable research and publications, and disseminate our own academic work. We are grateful for these interactions and the vibrant discussions they fostered.

However, the increasing spread of disinformation and hate speech has made it more difficult to engage in the kind of open, fact-based discussions that are essential to our mission. These recent shifts in the platform’s dynamics no longer align with our core values:

• Pluralism, inclusiveness, and respect for diversity in societies and decision-making

To uphold these principles, we have decided to focus our engagement on channels that better support academic exchange, inclusivity, and constructive discourse.
