SMARTLOGI aims to enhance the operational and institutional cooperation on sustainable multimodal freight transport options, tackling the administrative and technological issues currently hindering additional modal shift from road to rail thus decreasing the impact of freight transport in terms of pollution, GHG emissions and noise. This will be achieved through a cross-border action plan that develops a strategy for enhancing cross-border multimodal transport. The project’s results will be used by both PPs and policy makers, at different levels and again by terminal and logistic operators. SMARTLOGI will make multimodal transport more competitive and
attractive, thus increasing the modal shift from road to rail and contributing to the safeguard of the environment of the whole Programme Area.
