Giulia Graldi is a Post-Doc researcher in the field of Earth Observation for vegetation monitoring in the Alps. She joined the Biosphere and Hydrosphere Group in 2025 at the Institute of Earth Observation, after working at the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, where she studied agricultural drought phenomena by using optical and radar remote sensed data within the GRAW project, financed by the Italian Space Agency. She pursuit her PhD in 2024 in Environmental Engineering at the University of Trento, Italy, on the retrieval of the superficial soil moisture at the field scale by using SAR data. Previously she was involved in precision agriculture projects both as an environmental engineer and as a researcher. At Eurac she is now focusing on the retrieval of biophysical parameters of the vegetation (LAI, fAPAR) mainly over alpine grasslands, by fusing optical and SAR data in a complex terrain environment. She is involved in CarboST, ScaleAGData and DRI2 projects.
