14th edition of the National Congress on Theriology / Mammal Research

This 14th edition of the National Congress on Mammal Research is organized by the Associazione Teriologica Italiana in collaboration with Eurac Research. Among the key topics discussed are the effects of landscape changes on mammals, changes in animal behaviour and their adaptation strategies, as well as the most effective conservation measures. The congress will also explore the interaction between humans, the environment, and wild mammals, including possible implications for health. In addition to the congress programme, several outdoor activities will be offered for participants: a “Bat Night” dedicated to searching for bats in the Talvera/Talfer Park in Bolzano/Bozen, a nocturnal excursion to observe bat flights in Merano/Meran, and a guided hike organized in collaboration with the Latemar Forestry School. Until 19 June, Eurac Research will also host a public photo exhibition featuring the winning images of the national mammal photography competition “Concorso Fotografico ATIt 2026”.
