20 years of Eurac Research for renewable energies

Our journey began with a small but essential kit: focused expertise in a few technologies, a lot of ideas, and the ambition to support local businesses in the energy sector. Over time, we have gained much more gear, having worked alongside institutions and companies that helped us develop and expand our skills.

We brought that knowledge back to South Tyrol, and today we support local industry, the public administration, and continue to collaborate with key players in both national and European energy markets.

In our labs, we test individual technologies and systems whilst simultaneously working on energy grids and projects that integrate different sources and engage with social dynamics to address the energy transition from all angles.

Looking ahead, we see more and more locally produced energy supporting liveable cities, comfortable homes and regional economies. This is the direction we’ll keep moving in and with each year, our kit will gain new tools to meet the challenges to come.
