PV Prototyping Lab
Lab for prototype and measure of customized photovoltaic modules, according to the desired application, design and sustainability. From components to module. From scratch to pre-series.
From early concept to large-sized PV module prototypes: Designed to bridge the gap between research and application, the Lab enables the small-scale production of PV modules with high flexibility in terms of materials, cell technologies, and interconnection architectures. Equipped with a semi-automated 1x1 m2 laminator and a wide range of characterization means, the lab supports the testing of innovative module components and module layouts, and simultaneously allows for an in-depth evaluation of optical, thermal, eletrical and mechanical properties of materials and modules.
Flexibility of applications: from conventional to highly specific PV modules. Owing to the versatility of our toolset, we are able to address virtually all PV applications. This includes building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), agrivoltaics (agriPV), and extreme environments (Alpine PV, Floating PV...). The proximity with Solare PV and ALTL Labs further extends the range of testing possibilities, regarding electrical and reliability testing. The "+" for you ? Company service expertise: The Lab offers tailored services to industrial partners, research institutions, and technology developers, including support in the design, prototyping, and pre-certification testing of novel PV modules. Its infrastructure is ideal for validating early-stage concepts, optimizing materials and processes, assessing and developing customized Bills-of-Materials (BoMs) and accelerating the path from lab-scale innovation to real-world application.

This infrastructure has been funded in parts by the European Union under the project “Network 4 Energy Sustainable Transition—NEST”, the CANVAS project (Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security) and the Perspire FESR/EFRE 2021-2026 project.
