South Tyrolean Nature Guide Training Course – Collaboration with the Lichtenburg Education Centre in Nals (BZ)
This year, Bildungshaus Lichtenburg, the Education Centre in Nals, together with the association Natopia (Tyrol, Austria), is offering the training course "South Tyrolean Nature Guide." The programme focuses on conveying experiences of nature, knowledge about nature, and enthusiasm for the natural world.
On Friday, 24 July 2026, the participants visited Eurac Research and gained insights into the diverse research activities carried out at the Institute for Alpine Environment. Andreas Hilpold presented the "Biodiversity Monitoring South Tyrol" project, while Roberta Bottarin introduced the topic of aquatic ecosystems and the challenges associated with them.
The participants also gained hands-on experience during a field excursion to the Talvera River, where, together with Roberta Bottarin, they conducted limnological surveys and subsequently examined the collected water samples under the microscope.
The day concluded with a presentation by Alex Festi, Director of the South Tyrol Fisheries Association, followed by a visit to the Eco-Library, where participants were introduced to scientific and specialist literature as well as educational resources available to the public.
