From comparative reliability studies of PV modules to international efforts promoting climate resilience, each project stands testament to the sector’s remarkable progress and determination.
Chiara Barretta, Brahim Anis Belferkous, Guillermo Oviedo Hernandez, Daniela Maria Godino Ariolli, André Augusto, Emmanouil Psimopoulos, Lukas Koester, David Moser, and Gernot Oreski will lead a compelling investigation into the reliability of PV modules across different generations. Their comparative study, focusing on PV plants aged 13 years and 30 years, provides critical insights into the longevity, performance, and real-world durability of solar panels. The findings contribute substantially to our understanding of how technological advancements and evolving manufacturing processes impact the lifespan and efficiency of PV systems.

The team of Giovanni Borz, Enrico Dalla Maria, David Moser, and Gofran Chowdhury is going to introduce the latest updates from the Symbiosyst Growing Greener 2.0 monitoring campaign.
Cristina Polacchi, Atse Louwen, and David Moser are going to present a rigorous analysis of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methods pertaining to contemporary PV market conditions. Their review scrutinized the accuracy and representation of current LCA methodologies, highlighting areas for improvement and advocating for more robust approaches that better capture the environmental footprint of modern PV technologies.
Federico Andreozzi, Gianluigi Bovesecchi, Richard Perez, Marco Pierro, and Cristina Cornaro will unveil “Infinity,” a small-scale prototype designed for firm-PV generation. This project demonstrates the feasibility of reliable and consistent energy output from compact systems, offering promising solutions for regions and applications where scalability, resilience, and efficiency are paramount.
Pierre-Jean Allet, Grazia Barchi, Venizelos Efthymiou, Gofran Chowdhury, Marion Perrin, Maximilian Schönau, Elham Shirazi, and Ioannis (John) Tsanakas will discuss the integration of PV into smart energy systems, tracing the journey from strategic research agendas to tangible EU project use-cases. Their work highlights how harmonized planning, and innovation can drive the transition to cleaner energy infrastructures across Europe.
The CACTUS Project, is going to be presented by Ioannis (John) Tsanakas, Delfina Muñoz, Romain Couderc, Aitor Marzo, Asier Sanz Martinez, Atse Louwen, David Moser, Felipe Valencia, Nicole Torres Silva, Luis Alejandro Cardenas Garcia, Fernando Augusto Herrera Leon, Thu Nhi Tran Caliste, Mark Robert Johnson, Sarah Essam T. Mohammed, and Jose Vega de Seoane. It embodies a cross-continental effort to foster collaboration between research infrastructures and stakeholders in Europe and Latin America. The initiative targets the development of climate-resilient PV systems, emphasizing knowledge exchange, capacity building, and international networking as vital catalysts for innovation.
The BREEZE Project, presented by Duygu Celik, Johannes Stierstorfer, Claire Morin, Thomas Garabetian, Cristian Pozza, Francesco Babich, Akshit Gupta, Laura Maturi, Ulrich Filippi Oberegger, Daniele Antonucci, Simone Ciuffi, Pawel Wargocki, Andrei Vladimir Lițiu, Nicolandrea Calabrese, Giovanni Murano, Francesca Caffari, Jerzy Kwiatkowski, Katarzyna Rajkiewicz, Olivier Greslou, and Dominique Caccavelli, focuses on leveraging PV integration within building renovations. This research explores best practices and novel strategies to accelerate the uptake of solar energy in the built environment, supporting the EU’s sustainability and energy efficiency objectives.
Elisa Veronese, Cristina Polacchi, Rama Sharma, Atse Louwen, Jan Clyncke, and David Moser are going to showcase innovative methods aimed at strengthening the EU photovoltaic manufacturing sector via advanced module recycling techniques. Their work underscores the necessity of circular economy principles, ensuring that PV systems remain sustainable from production to end-of-life.
