MI SolarDesign 2.0
The SolarDesign2.0 project aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the Italian building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) value chain, a strategic technology for achieving national energy targets and for landscape preservation. In a fragmented and poorly integrated market scenario, the project promotes the development of innovative, customized, and aesthetically refined BIPV solutions, fostering stronger interaction between research and industry.
Eurac Research plays a central role by providing infrastructure, scientific expertise and advanced know-how in the BIPV field, in synergy with the CNR and strategic industrial partners such as Gruppo STG Fabbrica srl, Ecoprogetti srl and ETA srl. The project envisages the implementation of a flexible pilot production line, the establishment of a national IPV center of competence and prototyping, the development of new products with high aesthetic and energy value, end-of-life management strategies and dissemination and training activities. The ultimate goal is to accelerate the adoption of BIPV and enable its large-scale integration into the built environment.
