MI SPECTRE - Advanced Solutions for Performance Monitoring, Control, Remote Sensing and Diagnostics of Solar Photovoltaic Installations
SPECTRE aims to develop and validate an integrated platform for advanced monitoring, multi-source remote sensing and predictive diagnostics of photovoltaic (PV) power plants. By combining operational SCADA data with environmental information, visual inspections, thermal imaging and artificial intelligence techniques, the project seeks to improve the efficiency, reliability and resilience of solar energy systems.
SPECTRE will deliver innovative tools capable of detecting and classifying faults, performance losses and degradation mechanisms at an earlier stage than conventional approaches. Through the integration of drone-, aircraft- and satellite-based remote sensing, advanced imaging techniques and machine-learning algorithms, the project will enable more accurate performance assessment and predictive maintenance strategies.
Ultimately, SPECTRE will provide scalable, interoperable and replicable solutions that support the optimisation of photovoltaic power plants and contribute to a more reliable and sustainable energy transition.
