MI TERRALTA

Technologies for Energy Resilience and Renewables Integration in Alpine Landscapes Through Adaptive Smart Environments

TERRALTA aims to strengthen energy resilience in Alpine and remote mountain regions by demonstrating innovative solutions for renewable energy generation, storage, and local energy management. The project combines non-conventional photovoltaic applications—such as floating PV systems and solar installations integrated with water infrastructures—with battery storage and smart energy management technologies.

Its main objective is to increase the use of locally produced renewable energy, improve grid stability in areas with limited electrical infrastructure, and support the development of Renewable Energy Communities (RECs). By engaging local authorities, citizens, energy users, and regional stakeholders, TERRALTA seeks to accelerate the clean energy transition while creating a replicable model for sustainable and resilient energy systems in mountainous territories across Europe.
