HARPa, the app that estimates the energy class of old domestic boilers
Most heating appliances currently installed in European countries are old and inefficient. Replacing them with more energy-efficient and/or renewable technological solutions will help to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and, consequently, the environmental impact on the planet
HARPa was developed as part of the Harp research project, which ran from 2019-2022 with funding from the European Horizon 2020 programme. It is based on European Regulations 811 and 812 of 2013 and is dedicated to stand-alone domestic heating and hot water systems.
With a few simple data, HARPa calculates the energy class of the old generator and expresses it in the form of a label.
The update of the HARPa app, carried out by ENEA in cooperation with Assotermica - ANIMA Confindustria and Institute for Renewable Energy - Eurac Research, adapts the app to the national context, based on the results of the awareness-raising campaigns carried out between 2021 and 2022.
The HARPa energy label is a voluntary tool and does not overlap with the scope of the mandatory label.
