TypeDLT for TRNSYS

Climate-based daylighting simulations

TypeDLT is a TRNSYS component that enables climate-based daylighting simulations with RADIANCE. It allows to analyse the effects of Complex Fenestration Systems and it gives the opportunity to develop custom control strategies for dynamic shading devices. Type DLT extends TRNSYS capabilities allowing to take into account also the visual comfort in order to have an overall vision of the buildings´ behaviour in terms of energy balance but also thermal and visual comfort. It´s also possible to connect Type DLT with other types of TRNSYS deck in order to define custom shading controls.

Development

The new type has been developed by the Institute for Renewable Energy of Eurac Research within the EU FP7 CommONEnergy project.
