The FuturHist Retrofit Academy offers a two-stage European training programme designed to bridge heritage conservation and high-performance energy efficiency.

As Europe moves towards climate neutrality, the refurbishment of historic buildings requires new skills, methods and tools. The Academy provides practitioners with the methodologies and innovative solutions developed within the Horizon Europe FuturHist project, combining research insights with practical application.

• A focus on the “typological approach” – moving from one-off case studies to scalable renovation models
• Access to the FuturHist Toolkit, a step-by-step decision support system for energy retrofits
• Training in passive and active retrofit strategies compatible with heritage values
• Hands-on experience in hygrothermal simulation and life-cycle assessment (LCA)
• An international network of experts and practitioners
