New façade lab in the works!

Building façades are becoming more complex, and there is a growing need to evaluate their performance. The façade industry requests more tests, with 18 local companies signing letters of support for the project.

For these reasons, a new testing setup for complex building façades will be built at Eurac Research outdoor labs at NOI Techpark in 2027. The aim is to test large façades for air permeability, water tightness, and wind load resistance.

Existing labs will also be upgraded to create an integrated experimental framework, in particular:

• Façade System Interaction Lab
• Multifunctional Façade Lab
• G-Value Lab
• Hygrothermal Testing Lab

The project is led by Ingrid Demanega and includes a team composed by: Roberto Lollini, Giuseppe De Michele, Leire Minguez, Marco Larcher, Valentino Diener, Giordano Miori, Damiano Adami, Jacopo Corona, David Cennamo, Alessandro Lanzetta, Ludovica Galeazzi.
