The Alpine region faces shared challenges that no single country or region can solve alone, ranging from climate change and mobility to economic resilience and social cohesion. The EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) was created to address these issues collectively. 

The project aims to strengthen the governance and implementation capacity of EUSALP, ensuring political decisions, strategic priorities and day-to-day actions work together seamlessly. By improving coherence between the Revised Action Plan, the General Assembly's decisions, and the Action Group Work Plans for 2026–2028, the project will enable EUSALP to deliver tangible results for the Alpine region. 

To support informed decision-making, the project will establish a robust monitoring and steering system covering all EUSALP governance components and their interrelations. At the same time, communication and knowledge sharing will be strengthened to increase the visibility of EUSALP and ensure that results reach regional, national, and European stakeholders — as well as practitioners, young people, and the wider public.

As a project partner, Eurac Research plays a key role by co-leading Action Group 8 on Risk Governance and by contributing its expertise in climate risk assessment and risk governance. Through transnational exchange, common activities and joint learning, Action Group 8 contributes to more resilient Alpine territories and better-integrated approaches to managing natural hazards and climate change adaptation across borders.
