Lydia Pedoth is a researcher and project manager at Eurac Research, at the Center for Climate Change and Transformation, with extensive experience in the social dimensions of risks linked to natural hazards, climate change adaptation, and risk governance.

She is co-leading the Research Area “Transformation towards climate just societies” and coordinates a working group on Risk Governance, focusing on risk perception, risk communication, community resilience, and the links between gender, justice, and climate change adaptation. Her work combines research and practice, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement and methods for transdisciplinary collaborations.

She holds a master’s degree in political science and international relations from Roma Tre University and a degree as Universitäre Projektmanagerin from the University of Salzburg. She is currently completing a PhD in Landscape Planning at BOKU University in Vienna.

Lydia is involved in several regional and international projects and has many years of experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders. She also serves as co-chair of Action Group 8 on Risk Governance within EUSALP (EU macro-regional strategy for the Alpine Region) and as a member of the Steering Committee of we4DRR, a European network for women’s exchange on Disaster Risk Reduction.

Her main research interests include risk governance, climate change adaptation, risk perception and communication, community resilience, participatory approaches, and gender and justice in climate adaptation.
