A detailed overview of the building stock in the Province of Bolzano, with a particular focus on historic and existing buildings, often characterised by traditional construction techniques and local materials such as stone and wood. Through statistical analysis, bibliographic research and field surveys, the report reconstructs the evolution of South Tyrolean construction from the pre-industrial period to the present day, highlighting the wide variety of construction solutions that make up the territory.
EU FESR InRenova - INnovative INterior INsulation Solutions to foster the RENOVAtion of Existing and Historical Buildings
The European "Renovation Wave" strategy aims to double the annual renovation rate by 2030. However, current results fall short of ambitious European goals, necessitating strategies to stimulate high-quality energy renovations.
The InRenova project aspires to enhance the design processes for the energy retrofitting of existing buildings and historical centers through innovative solutions for internal insulation. Two innovative processes will be developed: one targeting enterprieses for the performance characterization of materials and products for internal insulation, and another aimed at designers for the evaluation of design solutions for internal insulation.
These innovative processes will be based on advanced laboratory measurements of the hygrothermal properties of building materials and the use of hygrothermal software in dynamic regime.
InRenova will focus on identifying barriers that limit the adoption of innovative interior insulation solutions and will seek to overcome them through a communication strategy aimed at raising awareness among building stakeholders and through guidelines and technical documents to support the implementation of such insulation systems.
