PNRR IOMSES - Integrated Optimization and Management of Sustainable Mobility and Energy Systems
IOMSES (Integrated Optimization and Management of Sustainable Mobility and Energy Systems) develops advanced modeling solutions to assess and optimize large-scale electric vehicle (EV) integration with power systems in Italy. The project combines comprehensive EV charging analysis across multiple vehicle categories (passenger cars, buses, commercial vehicles) with innovative grid management strategies.
Using PyPSA and emobpy tools, we're creating a detailed multi-node model of Italy's energy system to evaluate:
- Impact of transport electrification on power grids
- Smart charging and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) optimization
- Economic and environmental benefits across different scenarios
- Potential remuneration mechanisms for V2G participants
