## Cos'è EUreka!?

**Un blog su temi variamente legati all'UE**
Nel maggio 2019 si sono svolte le elezioni del Parlamento europeo. Tuttavia, per la maggior parte dei cittadini europei, questi momenti elettorali sono molto confusi e poco chiari. Ciò vale non solo per il funzionamento pratico di queste elezioni, ma anche per le ripercussioni del risultato elettorale sulla nostra vita quotidiana. Infatti, in un'epoca di grande sfiducia nella democrazia rappresentativa e di antieuropeismo pervasivo nella politica e nella società in generale, le elezioni europee sono a rischio di populismo e disinteresse.

La scarsa affluenza alle urne che si è manifestata alle elezioni europee del 2014 (42%) è solo uno dei sintomi della crisi che l'Unione Europea stava vivendo allora e che è ancora più che attuale. L'Unione Europea è in difficoltà. Tutti conoscono espressioni come "crisi finanziaria" o "Brexit", ma meno il vero significato di questi concetti.

**Per questo motivo è necessario un dibattito chiaro ed esauriente su ciò che sta accadendo nell'UE in questo momento.**

Lanciato nell'aprile del 2019, questo blog vuole far luce su alcune delle questioni più rilevanti per il futuro dell'Unione Europea - intesa nel suo complesso ma anche come la somma di 28 (oggi 27) paesi diversi, contribuendo alla costruzione di un'opinione pubblica consapevole e informata.
Dato il motto dell'UE, "Uniti nella diversità", e l'idea dell'UE come entità sovranazionale fatta di culture, tradizioni e lingue diverse, EUreka! cerca di far emergere storie e aspetti interdisciplinari altrimenti trascurati nella discussione generale sull'Unione Europea e sull'Europa in generale.
